Applications are due by 4:00 p.m. Thursday, May 23 and can be turned in to Barbara Simington (Streeter 101). You may also email your completed application to barbaras@clackamas.edu.

What is a Math Department Intern?
A Math Department Intern is a student who will assist the Math Department in a variety of duties that will be arranged by the department chair, the math department faculty, and the student, based on department need and student interest. 

For the 2013-2014 academic year, the primary duties will be:

Working at the Streeter Hall Information Desk
Assisting the Math Department Secretary
Helping with the annual Skills Contest
Other duties as the need arises

How many Math Department Internship positions are available?
There are openings for two Math Department Internships for the 2013/2014 academic year. 

What are the requirements to be a Math Department Intern?

  1. Be a currently registered student at CCC
  2. Attend CCC for the entire 2013-2014 Academic Year
  3. Have passed (or be currently passing) a college level math course (at least Mth105 or Mth111) with a B or better
  4. Have a desire to work with the members of the Math Department

What does the Tuition Waiver cover?
The tuition waiver covers tuition only for up to 18 credits for each of the three terms (Fall, Winter, and Spring) of the 2013-2014 Academic Year.
 
The tuition waiver does not cover any type of fees or charges for classes (other than tuition). Even after receiving the math department internship tuition waiver, a student may still be eligible for other financial aid (check with the Financial Aid Office).

How do I apply?

1. Obtain an application form from the Math Department web-page or from the Math Department Secretary, Barbara Simington, in S101 (or your math instructor may have a copy).

2. Give the completed application form to Barbara Simington, in S101 by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2012. You may also email your completed application to barbaras@clackamas.edu.

3. Check your email. The selection committee may want to meet you for an interview; we will be notifying you by email.

ALL applicants will be notified by email after the interns have been selected.

When will the Math Internship positions be announced?
The Math Interns for the 2013-2014 year will be announced by Thursday, June 6.
